Bring pizza night to the next level with one of these made-from-scratch calzone pizzaThe way Italians do!

Have you ever tried making (or eating) authentic calzone pizza?!?
As you might know, calzone is a famous Italian half-moon shaped stuffed pizza.
It's made with the same dough as pizza. Just as yummy and mouthwatering as pizza. Just made with extra stuffing, folded and baked. So cheesy and soooo delicious.
When it comes to calzone, you can stuff it with any of your favorite pizza toppings: prosciutto, ham, salami, grilled veggies, olives... you can let your imagination (or refrigerator!) decide.
The original Neapolitan calzone comes with fresh ricotta, pecorino and mozzarella cheese, Italian salami and basil.
Today, I filled mine with ham, mozzarella, artichokes and these delicious Mutti Pomodoro Sauces for Pizza.
These delicious sauces come in three regional varieties, each with its unique flavor, bright taste and enticing aroma. Like all the other Mutti products, these are made with the highest quality, 100% Italian tomatoes, non-GMO, no additives and no preservatives.
🇮🇹Napoli Sauce, with Basil & EVOO, inspired by pizza Margherita of Naples;
🇮🇹Positano Sauce, with Garlic & Oregano, inspired by the flavors of the Amalfi coast;
🇮🇹Parma Sauce, with Parmigiano Reggiano, inspired by Parma’s most celebrated cheese.

Now let's talk about pizza dough. If you own a stand mixer the job is super easy: just add flour, yeast, salt and sugar. Mix to combine. Then add the warm water with mixing with hook attachment. Let the machine do all the work.
If you don't have a stand mixer, the steps are the same. But it will take a bit of hand work to first mix in the bowl, then move to the counter and knead for several minutes until the dough is elastic.
To make the calzone, divide the dough in two parts (or three if you wish to make smaller calzone). Roll out each into a large di Spread some pizza sauce in half of the dough, leaving a 1 inch border clean. Top with two slices of ham, mozzarella cut in slices, artichoke hearts and a drizzle of olive oil.
Fold the empty side over the filling, and crimp the edges to seal well.
Cut a few slits on top to vent. Drizzle with some more pizza sauce, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and drizzle with a bit of olive oil.
Bake for about 15 minutes until golden on top.
Ready to try it too?!?
Nothing like that first bite!
